The skin is our protective envelope. Its integrity and its appearance are two factors that guarantee our general health and our well-being. It enables our body to be protected from the penetration of bacteria, viruses, chemicals, UV, and preserves it from dehydration. Furthermore it contributes to temperature regulation and the evacuation of toxins.
It is a true protective shield, an organ undergoing constant renewal and, as such, subject to ageing. Although we cannot halt some genetically programmed processes, taking care of our skin enables us to keep it beautiful and in good health, and to fend off the signs of age.
The fundamental role of a cosmetic is therefore to preserve and restore the skin barrier. In this way the skin will be protected effectively; the signs of age will be repulsed and its beautiful external appearance will be preserved.
